Carpet color is usually picked from a swatch on a desk, and then seen for the first time under a ceiling full of hall lights. The floor covers more of the booth than any graphic, so the difference shows up in every photo, video and social post from the show.
Convention halls are lit from high overhead, often with a mix of fixture types, and most booths add their own spotlights on top. The color temperature of all that light pulls the floor warmer or cooler than it looked in the office. Warm light pushes grays toward beige and makes reds look orange. Cool light turns beige a little green and can make navy read as black.
Cameras make it more obvious. Phones balance the whole frame automatically, so a large area of floor can tip the color of everything in the shot, including your product and your people.
Most brands are best served by picking the closest stock color and letting graphics carry the exact shade. Our color pages show the full range: Fine Lines, recyclable event carpet, Smooth Operator and Front Row and the full carpet catalog.
When the floor itself has to be the brand color, custom color is available on Fine Lines. Plan for it early, because custom color takes longer than stock.
After the show, our crew takes the carpet up and it is recycled in the USA, whatever the color. Read what happens to event carpet after the show to see how.
Send them over with your show dates. We will suggest carpet colors that work with your graphics and the hall, and have the floor down before doors open — serving Nashville, Baton Rouge, Orlando and shows nationwide.
Mid-tone grays, charcoal and deep blues photograph well under most hall lighting and hide foot traffic over a multi-day show. A single strong brand color also works well when the walls and furniture stay simple.
Show halls are lit from high overhead, often with mixed fixtures plus booth spotlights. The color temperature of that light shifts carpet warmer or cooler, and phone cameras can exaggerate the shift.
White and very light cream look clean on day one but show footprints quickly and can blow out in photos under strong lights. If you want a light floor, a soft gray holds up better over several days.
